Description
A very well known and stable financial institution has a need for a Linux Suse Enterprise 9 Engineer. The hourly rate is $50-55. This position is a 6 month contract with the possibility of extending to 18 months. This position may also become permanent if we have the right candidate in place. The growth potential within the organization is unlimited with this company being a nation wide financial institute. People skills is a must as this person will be interacting with the line of business and their users. Have knowledge of SAS (not the hardware) and the configuration of the SAS client. Having some background with Teradata is preferred.
Description: Acts in the highest level technical role as an individual contributor and/or team lead for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives. Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. Works on the most complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variance factors. Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs, coding, and testing. Leads most complex multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts. Acts as expert technical resource to programming staff in the program development, testing, and implementation process.
Provides expert technical support and consultation for operating systems and applications. Conducts and coordinates the analysis, planning, implementation, and upgrading of systems software and application software. Participates in Stress Testing and performs analysis of the results. Analyzes, designs, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and documents operating systems and application components. Identifies and resolves complex systems problems. Monitors and gathers performance statistics to assist in determining hardware requirements and communication bandwidth to support projected transaction volumes, response time and system availability targets.

Experienced with one or more of the following virtual consoles: RILO (HP); DELL (DRAC); or IBM (Blade Management Module)
Current working experience with NETVAULT
