SUMMARY
We are currently seeking an individual to join our engineering team in the Phoenix or Las Vegas office. The position requires a background with the experience and capabilities necessary to define and analyze system requirements, evaluate current and emerging technologies, specify equipment, provide cost estimates, provide build documentation, and trouble shoot problems in the field. Audio / Video / Home Automation / Home Theater

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This position will be responsible to deliver fully functional and tested hardware systems that are ready for software integration
• Must be able to manage personal schedule to meet deadlines within budgeted hours
• Negotiate for resources and provide direction and tasking for technicians in the field to install the system as engineered.
• Function as part of a team to design, engineer, and deploy projects
• Create detailed engineering drawings and deliverables that can be used for bid or construction. Typical drawings include mechanical layouts, system control diagrams, signal flow diagrams, coordination drawings for electrical/mechanical contractors, and security drawings.
• Create bill of materials for procurement.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Five to ten years related experience required.
• BS or MS degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical, Engineering or Engineering Technology.
• Ability to manage ones schedule and meet deadlines within budgeted hours
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural blue prints.
• Very good computer skills both hardware and software, must be proficient and know their way around a desktop and LAN.
• Knowledge of Autocad, Autocad Lite, Microsoft Visio, and standard MS office applications.
• Experience and understanding of at least two of the following subsystems. Audio Video, Security, Lighting, HVAC, Telephone, CCTV, Access Control, and Pool controls.
• Have a great, fun attitude, dedicated work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
• Possess working flexibility and motivated to improve personally and professionally
• History of success working as part of a team.
• Strong Independent Problem Solver, both technical, human and logistical.
• Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, designs, and requirements in verbal and written form.
• Ability to travel 10% to 20% of the time.

DESIRED SKILLS

• Troubleshooting experience with integrated control systems
• Audio – Distributed Audio, speaker technologies, surround sound standards
• Video – Projector technologies, Video formats, Matrix switching, display technologies
• Control – AMX and or Crestron – equipment design, installation, beginner programming skills
• Videoconferencing – H.320, H.323 multiple vendor familiarity (Tandberg, Polycom, Lifesize)
• RF distribution, MATV, CCTV, Sat/DSS distribution
• Structured cabling and general understanding of networking fundamentals
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose RS232 communication problems.
• Professional certifications from CEDIA, ICIA.
• Any of the following training a plus. Extron, Autopatch, Radionics, GE Interlogix, Lutron, Litetouch, Panasonic phone systems, Jandy Controls, and Access control systems.
